This show would come under Entertainment in uses and gratifications because it is so extreme and people would use it to relax and even fill time. I watch this show because I like how they work to find the criminal and it also educates me on who might be out there. Some people might watch this show because someone else told them to and they don't want to be left out so then that would com under Social Integration.
Also the actors and actresses on this show are middle and young adult age and they are all attractive which makes the appeal to the show higher because woman will watch it just for the men in it, like Morgan. They also make the story lines better because then the can add romance in for the girls and heart break for the men, like when Aaron Hotchner lost his wife and son because he was too in love with his job, this is relatable for the audience because it is a real problem for a lot of people.
The selection of this show is that they would have probably set the same scene again and again in order to get the best one for their audience to see, this scene would have been selected by the director of that episode. The mediation of this show is that some times they focus on one character is something really bad is happening in their life, this is shown when Dr. Spencer Reid is trying to find out about a murder he remembers from his childhood. He becomes aggressive towards his colleagues and even his mum and his father he hardly knows. The construction of this show is that the murders that take place on this show are so extreme and the audience knows this it is just the fact that it is entertaining to watch the FBI agents trying everything to track this murder before they kill again. The way the murder kills and what the say, how the agents find out things has all been arrange by the people behind the show just for the entertainment of the audience.
